25.6 HA (63.2 ACRES) Located only 13km east from Naracoorte in the Wrattonbully Wine Region, this well managed vineyard has 11.3Ha Cabernet Sauvignon, 11.3Ha Shiraz, all planted 1995 to 1997. Minimal structural improvements, 9.0Ha I.E Water Licence, and attractive vendor terms to approved purchasers. Gently undulating country with red loam soil over limestone. 307 tonne this year (2008) with an on going contract. 3m rows run North to South. 2m vine spacings with 6m post spacings. Posts used in the vineyards are predominantly 4-5 inch x 8 foot creosote, but in one area 4-5inch x 8 foot CCA have been used. Stainers at ends of rows are 8-10 inch with struts to match. Wire used in the trellising is Waratach Heavy G. Scott Henry Trellising style is the type used throughout the vineyard. In the vineyard the country was ripped twice to a depth of 1m with the exception of some small stony areas. Since the inception of this vineyard frost & hail insurance has been taken out, however to date no claims have ever been made. The application of superphosphate has been done annually with appropiate amounts being spread after soil testing has been done.
