Description

Many a fantastic songster has written or recorded songs about being in a place where the land lies below and you are on top of the world. Well, this must have been what they were singing about. The views are magnificent and the elevation is superb. So whether you are The Carpenters feeling on 'Top of the World', John Denver on a Rocky Mountain High; or a yodelling goat heard from the Sound of Music, you will feel at home here. But you will probably wonder: If I have views like this and I overlook a great golf course and a wicked surf beach surrounded by stunning bushwalks and a playground for horses, mountain bikes, and kite surfing, how on earth will I get any work done? Well the truth is that you probably won't. You will leave your work at the office and race home to remind yourself that life is about living, work is about work. Family, friends, adventure and fun. The best high in life is the one that comes each morning when you look out of you multi-level home at the view from every direction and think: This is what I have worked so hard for, and then smile. The home has three bedrooms in the main area and an attached sleep-out (as part of the main house) as well as a huge 'basement' which has been used for storage but could easily be converted into other options such as studio or self-contained space for teenagers. The design of the house ensures that from every level, and almost every window, there is a spectacular view. The entire home has been updated, and features a great kitchen, new bathrooms, carpet, roof, paint etc to ensure that the new owner has to do nothing but kick back and enjoy a great life overlooking the golf course and the beach. About the area. What is it like to live in this spectacular location? On a clear day you can see forever. Muriwai offers what very few other places in Auckland can a mix of tranquillity and adventure! The locals don't tend to leave very often which means that there is a steady demand for quality property in the area. Having started out as a remote Bach community down the end of a long dirt road, Muriwai still retains much of its charm (although it is less remote and the streets are sealed!). The local community have worked very hard to ensure that what makes Muriwai special is retained and the Community Plan for Muriwai has been adopted by the council with a huge emphasis on conservation and protection in the area. Under this plan Muriwai cannot be over developed with in-fill housing projects and the public spaces are kept for the community. As a destination Muriwai attracts large numbers of visitors who come out to play. Surfing, parasailing, model plane flying, kite surfing, running, horse riding, cycling, bush walking, trail bike riding, fishing, gannet watching, photography and painting, are some of the main activities that Muriwai has to offer. It is a very vibrant and exciting place to live, and everyday you share this awesome place with the ocean, the birds, and the stars. But what about the traffic? There is no denying that if you left town at 5pm it will take you about the same amount of time to get to Muriwai as it would to get to Manurewa, or Howick, or some other outer Auckland suburb. Off-peak it is only about 35 minutes to downtown Auckland, Wairau Park, Albany or Waitakere. When you live here you fail to notice the traffic, it pales into insignificance every time you look out your front door. If the traffic is too long, your life really is too short. And on a sunny Saturday morning you can wander down the road to the fantastic Sandunz Cafe and enjoy your pancakes with bacon and syrup, a large hot latte and celebrate a life over-easy.
